Sound Level Meter – Di-LOG – Calibration

£65.00

A Sound Level Meter (SLM) is often made in a hand-held format, it’s a device that standardized the way we measure the sound levels in an environment. It is intended to respond to sound in the same way that a human ear would react, even trying to replicate the sound pressure levels experienced.

A sound level meter is made up of a preamplifier, a microphone, signal processing, and a display. Converting the sound signal to an equivalent electrical signal. Condenser microphones are often utilised in SLM‘s.

The microphone produces an electrical signal at a very low level, before it is processed by the main processor it has to be made stronger by the built-in preamplifier. Afterwards applying frequency and time weightings to the signal is essential in a method known as is called Signal processing.
