Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) calibration services – available nationwide
Known as PATs or PAT testers (Portable Appliance Testers) – are important diagnostic tools for any electrician. Early models have been in use in the UK since the 1960s and, today, more sophisticated versions are used day-in and day-out by professional electricians as part of their regular duties.
PATs allow you to perform a sweeping variety of checks on various electrical appliances to ensure they are in safe working order. These tests are expected to be run at regular intervals to ensure the continued safety of a building’s wiring system. The guidelines for offices and other workplaces, as well as rented properties, are particularly stringent. Failure to comply or to meet the standards set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) can result in significant fines.
Like all electrical testing apparatus, PATs are highly sensitive instruments. In order to guarantee the safety of your clients, it is important that your portable appliance testers are properly calibrated to operate with the manufacturer specifications.
This is where Re-CAL comes in.
